City crews will intensify efforts to repave roads and focus on illegal dumping hot-spots over the next 90 days

BALTIMORE, MD. (Thursday, April 13, 2023) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott launched the #BuildBetterBMore spring city service sprints, an intensive effort to repair 9,000 potholes, remove 900 graffiti markings, resurface nine miles of city roads, and target illegal dumping hot-spots in Baltimore over the next 90 days.

"No matter the neighborhood, Baltimoreans all want the same thing: high quality city services that they trust will be delivered on-time, every time" said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. "While the pandemic altered how we delivered our services - it didn't stop our front-line workers from giving it their all everyday. Over the next 90 days, we will ramp up efforts to strengthen service delivery and keep our city clean and safe. Residents should join us on our journey to #buildbetterBMore by submitting their service requests through 311."

Mayor Scott charged the City Administrator with leading an internal assessment of service delivery, reviewing staffing models, equipment availability, and opportunities for service optimization. "Delivering high-quality city services that our residents can trust requires that we leverage data and analytics to improve our processes and drive impact, while immediately delivering the basic services our residents expect and deserve," said Baltimore City Administrative Officer Faith Leach.

Throughout the 90-day intensive effort, Mayor Scott will celebrate the work of the city's front-line workers and launch a public education campaign to combat illegal dumping.
