Day of Service Will Mark Culmination of Charm City Cleanup Initiative

BALTIMORE, MD (Thursday, September 18, 2025) - Mayor Brandon M. Scott, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW), and the Mayor's Office of Community Affairs (MOCA) are calling on residents, community associations, and volunteer groups to register now for the Mayor's Fall Clean-Up and Day of Service on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This year's Fall Clean-Up will mark the culmination of the Mayor's Charm City Cleanup initiative, launched in July as the most ambitious citywide cleaning effort in decades. Over the summer, city agencies, community groups, and volunteers worked together to paint over graffiti, clear litter and illegal dumping sites, repair potholes, and tackle long-standing issues of in 17 clusters of neighborhoods across the city.

"This summer, we rolled up our sleeves and showed what's possible when the entire city comes together with one purpose: to restore the beauty and pride of Baltimore," said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. "The Charm City Cleanup was never just about picking up trash; it's about strengthening community ties, and proving that a cleaner, safer, and stronger Baltimore is within our reach. The Fall's Cleanup will build on that momentum."

"The Mayor's Fall Cleanup is one of my favorite opportunities to connect directly with our residents and volunteers," said DPW Acting Director Matthew Garbark. "I see firsthand how this day brings our frontline workforce and community members together to build cleaner, healthier neighborhoods. Every year, I'm reminded of what we can achieve when we all roll up our sleeves and work side by side toward a common goal."
