FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIMORE, MD (Monday, April 8, 2024) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott released the following statement regarding the inclusion of $50 million in Project C.O.R.E. funding in the State’s final budget which passed the Maryland General Assembly.

“Project C.O.R.E. has already been an asset in our work to redevelop Baltimore in a way that works for the residents who make our neighborhoods great. The expansion of Project C.O.R.E. funding to $50 million annually, which has been included in the final budget bill headed to Governor Moore’s desk, will be a game-changing tool as we pursue our $3 Billion vision to end the vacants crisis in Baltimore once-and-for-all. This expanded state funding is a monumental show of support from the Moore Administration, our Baltimore General Assembly delegation, and everyone in Annapolis that we are all aligned in our goal to make vacant housing a thing of the past in Baltimore. I want to thank Secretary Jake Day, Delegate Smith, and each of our partners who has advocated for Project C.O.R.E. this session for believing in this mission.”
