Baltimore's Official Juneteenth Celebration Returns June 21-22 in Druid Hill Park
BALTIMORE, MD (Tuesday, April 8, 2025) - Today, Brandon M. Scott, along with the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks (Rec & Parks), unveiled plans for AFRAM 2025, Baltimore's official Juneteenth celebration and African-American music, cultural, and arts festival, which will take place on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Druid Hill Park.
For nearly five decades, the City of Baltimore has celebrated Black excellence and uplifted African American heritage and culture through its free two-day AFRAM Festival. This event showcases local artists, businesses, organizations, and makers who display their goods, talents, services, and resources to up to 200,000 attendees each year.
"We know what AFRAM is: it is a celebration of everything that is Black excellence," said Mayor Scott. "It's one of the largest festivals on the East Coast dedicated to Black history and culture. We will continue having AFRAM, and because of the state of the world we're probably going to be more loud and even Blacker this year to remind everybody that no matter how hard they try to erase us from the history books, they can't erase us."
As one of the largest festivals on the East Coast dedicated to Black history and culture, the event also uplifts homegrown Baltimore talent. New this year, the Roots & Family Stage will be produced by the Black Arts District and sponsored by the West North Avenue Development Authority (WNADA).
WJZ-TV, Radio One and The Baltimore Banner are the official AFRAM 2025 media sponsors. Johns Hopkins University, Johns Hopkins Medicine, West North Avenue Development Authority (WNADA) and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum are AFRAM 2025 sponsors. Additionally, the City is supporting The SEED School of Maryland's RUN-UP-TO Juneteenth 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk, happening Sunday, June 8.
"The countdown to AFRAM is on, and we could not be more excited about this year's lineup and everything we have planned to uplift African-American culture and the local Baltimore community," said Rec & Parks Director Reginald Moore. "With over 700 acres of historic Druid Hill Park as a backdrop, this year's festival will be the ultimate summer destination. We're grateful for the support of the Scott Administration, local vendors, strong partnerships, and most of all, the community, which shows up year after year, making this an annual tradition not to miss."
2025 AFRAM Performers will include:
Vedo
Amerie
Saweetie
Teedra Moses
Juvenile
Patti LaBelle
