BALTIMORE, MD (Saturday, April 3, 2021) — Mayor Brandon M. Scott released the following statement in response to a fatal carjacking in Baltimore Friday morning:

My heart goes out to the families impacted by this violence. I am thankful for the work of our Baltimore Police Department in immediately apprehending a suspect. This tragedy serves as another example of why comprehensive reform of our criminal justice system must prioritize rehabilitation and trauma-informed services.
