Mayor Young to place all police-involved litigation claims on the Board of Estimates' non-routine agenda

BALTIMORE, MD.  —On Tuesday, Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young accepted a recommendation from City Solicitor Andre Davis that approval of law settlements in police-involved litigation claims be assigned to the non-routine agenda of the Board of Estimates.

The settlements require approval from the Board.

The letter represents the latest step in the City’s commitment to transparency. Under the new procedure, any claimants who settle their claims would be invited to address the Board and speak publicly.
