FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIMORE, MD.  — Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young is pleased to join the Baltimore Public Markets Corporation today to announce the Grand Opening of Broadway Market, with a ribbon cutting at 6:00 p.m.

“I am very excited to announce the grand opening for Broadway Market,” said Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young. “Returning this asset to the community has been a priority for me and the City. We’re grateful to have 3 longtime vendors joining a host of new businesses in this fantastic new space which I’m sure residents will enjoy for generations to come.”

Three long time Broadway Market vendors – Vikki’s Fells Point Deli, Sophia’s Place European Deli and Sal and Son’s Seafood – all opened in their new spaces earlier this spring, while new vendors completed construction of their stalls.

Broadway Market’s lineup now includes:

  • Thai Street, authentic Thai street food
  • Florigen, a new sister flower shop by B. Willow
  • Fat Tiger, a New American bar with local beer, approachable wine, and craft cocktails, as well as a specialty coffee program
  • Old Boy, authentic Korean Food
  • Taharka Bros. Ice Cream
  • The Verandah, authentic Indian street food
  • Connie’s Chicken and Waffles

Broadway Market will have expanded hours and be open seven days a week to serve the community. The market will be open from 7:00am to 10:00pm on Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 8:00am to 10:00pm on Sunday. Additionally, Broadway Market now features outdoor seating and seasonal programing space.

Dating to 1786, today’s Broadway Market consists of two separate shed buildings. Shuttered for nearly a decade, the north shed of Broadway Market reopened in 2019 as a newly renovated market with a wide array of offerings from fresh seafood to traditional Polish cuisine. The south shed is expected to reopen later this summer as a 275-seat Maryland seafood restaurant operated
by the Atlas Restaurant Group. Broadway Market is managed by the Baltimore Public Markets Corporation, a nonprofit that operates the America’s oldest public market system on behalf of the City of Baltimore.
