BALTIMORE, MD. (Tuesday, November 8, 2022) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott announced Chezia Cager as his new Chief of Staff. Cager will assume the position effective November 28, 2022.

Cager served in senior advisory roles in both the Obama and Biden administrations leading improvement efforts impacting domestic policy, national operations, and external engagements.

"Chezia brings an impressive wealth of government experience, first-hand knowledge of Baltimore, and a comprehensive understanding of how to develop and maintain beneficial partnerships with federal, state, and local governments for more than fifteen years," said Mayor Brandon M. Scott.

As Chief of Staff, Cager will provide oversight to legislative affairs, communications, and constituent services for the Mayor's Office and manage the development and execution of Baltimore's state and federal legislative and policy agendas.

Prior to her federal service, Cager served in the Maryland House of Delegates during her undergraduate studies at Salisbury University. Upon graduating, Cager joined Mayor Sheila Dixon's Administration in 2007. Cager also earned a Master's degree in Communications from Notre Dame of Maryland.

"As a Baltimore native, I'm proud that my public service career began right here at home. I'm excited to support Mayor Scott's vision and continue to serve our citizens and City of Baltimore," Cager said.
