City and State Resources Available to Assist Residents Affected by Extreme Weather

BALTIMORE, MD. (Wednesday, August 10, 2022) - Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott announced that the City will host a Storm Recovery Assistance Event this afternoon, Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 4 pm-6:30 pm at 2500 E. Northern Parkway, Baltimore, Maryland, 21214.

The Storm Recovery Assistance Event will provide assistance to residents impacted by extreme weather that caused widespread power outages, downed trees, and damaged property throughout Northeast Baltimore.

The event will be made possible by the Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management, Maryland Department of Emergency Management, Maryland Insurance Administration, Maryland Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and the Baltimore City Department of Planning.

Staff from these organizations will be on site to provide insurance claim support, flood management information, emergency management expertise, and food distribution information.

"The severe weather last week caused significant damage to our communities and we are actively working to address its impact," said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. "I’ve toured the area and have witnessed firsthand the harm that this storm inflicted on our communities. However, Baltimore is all about coming together and supporting our neighbors in their time of need. I want to thank our partners for helping set up this Storm Recovery Assistance Event. Together we will ensure that our communities are able to bounce back stronger than ever."

The City plans on canvassing the community immediately before and during the event to encourage residents to come out and receive support.
