BALTIMORE, MD. (Thursday, December 16, 2021) — Mayor Brandon M. Scott released the following statement on the two separate shootings of Department of Public Works employees, which occurred over the past two weeks: 

“Sirron Whitaker, Jr., a DPW employee with the Utility Maintenance Division, is currently recovering in shock trauma after enduring a violent attack. This follows the shooting of Jake Rogers, a DPW employee with the Solid Waste Bureau. My heart goes out to their loved ones and our entire DPW family. Please do not hesitate to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7 LOCKUP to provide an anonymous tips. Money is available for information that leads to the arrest of anyone illegally possessing firearms and using guns to perpetrate violent crime in Baltimore City.”
